Women only yoga classes Mondays 7-8.30pm Spencer Yard

Yoga to support women's long term health:  fertility, postnatal recovery, menstrual balance, core strength, menopause

You may just want to practice yoga in the presence of other women only. Or maybe you have painful periods, or wish to conceive. If you have recently had a baby these sessions will help to promote your recovery now and in the longer term. Maybe you experiencing the perimenopause or menopause and want to find ways to help you through this transition. You may be postmenopausal and want to find ways to carry on strengthening and retaining flexibility.

These classes are to help support female wellbeing through all the fluctuations and lifestages that life brings. Gentle but effective practices to find both tone and release, physically and emotionally. Many women practice yoga but still experience tension in their minds and pain in their bodies. Come and learn new ways to enjoy yoga and to adapt it to your present needs. Open to beginners as well as experienced yoginis. 

These classes are suitable for all women and include:

  • A focus on realigning spine to pelvis which is so key to our long term health and wellbeing
  • Optimising pelvic health including a variety of ways to bring tone as well as release to the pelvic floor muscles and surrounding structures, including abdominal and back muscles
  • Strengthening and energising movements to release emotions, retain vitality
  • Restorative and relaxing practices to soothe the adrenal glands, alleviate tiredness, regulate sleep and help with mood swings

Classes will then resume early September: 9th Sept, 16th, 23rd, 30th then October 7th and 14th. November 4th 11th, 18th, 25th then December 2nd, 9th and 16th.

From courtyard go through blue door straight up stairs to hall. 

Parking often available in evenings in Spencer Yard. Permits required only until 6pm.

Cost:

 

£105 for whole Autumn term ( 13 sessions) from w/c 9th Sept to w/c 16th Dec

or half term Sept Oct £55 for 6 sessions then Nov-Dec £65 for 7 sessions

or £10 per session

or if you enrol in the adult general yoga classes you can mix and match these sessions

I am a registered provider with Jaguar LandRover on their Employee Learning Scheme ( ELS) so you can apply through them for funding to attend my classes.

What to bring:

Just yourself! If you love your own yoga mat and cushions then you are welcome to bring these, otherwise all equpment is provided. Wear comfortable clothing such as leggings and T-shirt. 

 

 

 

Menopause workshops monthly Saturdays 2-4 pm Swimworks

Yoga to support women during the perimenopause, menopause and postmenopause 

The menopause is a time of huge transition. It can hold many challenges and, with the right support and approach, can open up new opportunities and new found strength and wellbeing.

I am a tutor for Birthlight Well Woman yoga training (as well as perinatal training) which is recognised as a pioneer in its field in the development of effective practices to promote women's health during all the major transitions in her life. 

Yoga works on the whole body as well as the mind, helping to optimise hormonal balance to better adapt to times of change. For example research shows that yoga can help alleviate many menopausal symptoms such as hot flushes and insomnia. 

Regular yoga practice can offer many benefits both during times of transition as well as ongoing health and wellbeing:

  • Restorative and relaxing practices to soothe the adrenal glands, alleviate tiredness, regulate sleep and help with mood swings
  • Strengthening and energising movements to release emotions, retain vitality and optimise bone quality
  • Practices to promote flexibility so that mobility is retained as we age
  • Grounding, breathing and meditation practices to calm the nervous system, renew energy and find stability and inner strength during change

I am currently offering menopause workshops on a monthly basis. 

Midlife yoga for the menopause: These sessions are open to complete beginners to yoga as well as more experienced yoginis.

Monthly Saturdays 2-4 pm comprising 90 minute class and time for a drink/chat

The yoga will take place in the upstairs training room above the pool. Simply come in through front entrance and walk straight up stairs to the left. There is a toilet off the yoga room. 

Cost:

 

£20 per session or 

early bird offer of £15 per session if booked 2 weeks before session date. Please book via my website booking link. The default amount is set to £20 which you can alter when you pay if you qualify for early bird
